Deadline

SDSUniverse is published weekly, on Monday, during the fall and spring semesters. The publication schedule may vary during holidays and the summer semester.

The deadline for submissions is noon Thursday for the following Monday’s issue.

Editorial Policy

SDSUniverse does not guarantee publication of submitted material and is not responsible for information incorrectly received. SDSUniverse reserves the right to edit articles based on content, style or space considerations.

Information must pertain to events, news or information concerning SDSU or related programs, foundations or auxiliaries.

How to Contribute

If you will be contributing more than a couple times per year, please e-mail the site editor at SDSUniverse@sdsu.edu for a user name and password, which will allow you to submit content through the Web site.

Other submissions should be e-mailed directly to SDSUniverse@sdsu.edu. All e-mail submissions should contain:

  • name of contributor
  • position
  • department
  • SDSU phone number and e-mail

General Content Guidelines

Submission of articles by faculty and staff is welcome. Articles and announcements should pertain to news and information both about and of interest to the target audience, the faculty and staff of San Diego State.

Stories generally range from 150 to 500 words and should conform to The Associated Press Stylebook.

Contributors are responsible for:

  • accuracy and completeness of all stories
  • any necessary reviews prior to submitting.

Events on SDSUniverse and the Campus Events Calendar

For additional and longer-term promotion of events, post to the campus Events Calendar in addition to posting to SDSUniverse.

If you will be contributing event information more than a couple times per year, please e-mail the site editor at SDSUniverse@sdsu.edu for a user name and password, which will allow you to submit event content through the Web site.

Any events submitted to SDSUniverse must contain the event:

  • date
  • time
  • location
  • cost

As well as the following contact information:

  • contact name
  • position/title
  • department
  • phone
  • e-mail

Classifieds Policy

Classifieds are only accepted with home telephone numbers or personal e-mail addresses, not work numbers or e-mail addresses.

The Classifieds section is for postings by faculty and staff to sell or offer for donation goods, e.g., a car, fishing rod, surfboard, patio furniture. Ads for services or businesses, including home-based businesses selling goods, or sales of large quantities of a single item are prohibited. SDSUniverse makes no guarantees concerning advertised items and is not liable for any goods offered for sale or donation.

Classifieds are for a one-time-only posting per item and are posted for one week.

To Submit classifieds go to www.sdsuniverse.info/whatsnews.asp by noon Thursday for the following week's SDSUniverse. With your classified, please submit your name, position, department, work e-mail and phone number for internal verification purposes.
